Guatemalan Festival

The Guatemalan Center has hosted its flagship event, the Festival Guatemala, since 2010. This vibrant celebration honors Guatemala's rich cultural heritage and showcases the region's various traditions, arts, and cuisine. The festival highlights the rich aspects of Guatemalan culture and serves as a gathering point for the community to celebrate and share their cultural pride.

Over the years, the Festival has become the largest Guatemalan Festival in the region. It is renowned for its family-friendly atmosphere, featuring a variety of activities and entertainment that honor Guatemala's traditions, making it a cherished event for locals and visitors to attend.

This cultural celebration, which takes place in early September, activates the public space at the Temple to Music in Roger Williams Park, Providence.

Quetzal Award Gala

The Quetzal Award Gala is a prestigious annual event dedicated to honoring individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the community. The evening begins with networking.

The program features a captivating keynote address delivered by a distinguished speaker who inspires attendees with valuable and relevant topics. The highlight of the evening is the award ceremony, where we celebrate the recipient's remarkable achievements and commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Additionally, we celebrate the future leaders of our community by presenting scholarships to deserving students, empowering them to pursue their academic goals.

Inauguration and Open House

The Board of Directors of the Guatemalan Center of New England is proud and grateful for this significant achievement, which marks a new chapter in the organization’s history that began in 2007. This new physical space will allow us to connect directly with the community—a welcoming place where people can come together, participate in activities, foster collaborations, build relationships, and create a sense of belonging.

We remain committed to instilling pride within our community as we celebrate our homeland's rich history, traditions, and culture. Furthermore, we recognize the invaluable contributions of Guatemalans across various sectors in the region.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to those whose visionary efforts have laid the groundwork for our current success. With a spirit of optimism, we hope that both current and future generations will continue to build upon these collective achievements and reach even greater successes for our community.
